Our Beliefs

We believe:

That the Holy Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the infallible Word of God, the rule for faith, and the authoritative standard for living.

In the existence of the One and only True God, the creator of the universe, who is a Triune Being: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

That Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born by a virgin. He, as God incarnate, led a sinless life, died for sinful men, was resurrected from death by God, and thereafter ascended to heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for the saints.

That all men have fallen as a result of sin, and hence face eternal damnation. The only true hope of redemption from the effect and ultimate consequence of man’s fallenness is derived from faith placed in the Jesus Christ alone.

That conformity to the teachings of Jesus Christ is necessary for making the believer a true Christian disciple.

In the person, power, gifts and function of Holy Spirit, and that His role in the church and the individual believer is indispensable and absolutely important for the continual perfection of God’s will in the redeemed saints.

In the Great Commission, divine healing and miracles, fellowshipping among believers, and offering and tithes.

In the sacrament of baptism –by water immersion and the Holy Spirit – and the Lord’s Supper.

That the elect saints of God will be raptured one day after which the Great Tribulation will occur before the glorious second coming of Jesus Christ to judge the world.

That heaven and hell are real places of final destination of mankind following death. Whereas heaven is the place of everlasting bliss in the presence of God for the elect saints, hell is the place of eternal torment and damnation of the unrighteous.

That restitution – the repay or return of things to the rightful owners – is a necessary virtue that ought to accompany genuine repentance, whenever possible.

Our History & Legacy

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) started in 1952 in Lagos, Nigeria by Pastor Akindayomi. In 1981, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, a former university lecturer, became the General Overseer of the church. By the special grace of God, the church is currently in over 185 countries of the world under the leadership of Pastor Adeboye. Currently, RCCG is one of the fastest growing churches in the world. The church is popularly known worldwide for the December Holy Ghost congress it holds annually. This congress attracts millions of worshippers to Lagos, Nigeria.

The branch in Pittsburgh was started in December 2003 by the RCCG Living Spring Miracle Center in Philadelphia under the leadership of Pastor Funmi Obilana. Pastor Bola Akomolede pioneered the parish for a while, until Pastor Adegboyega Esan took over as the parish pastor in October 2004.

The church has subsequently seen transformational changes in its membership, impacting lives in and around the community we are located. By the help of God, RCCG Living Spring International, Pittsburgh, under the leadership of Pastor Esan, has planted four churches in Erie, PA, Indiana, PA, Morgantown, WV and Southside of Pittsburgh. At the moment, plans are far advanced to start a branch in Greensburg, PA.

In the Wilkinsburg community where the church is situated, we have made a great deal of impact through various community outreach programs, such as evangelism, children vacation Bible school, giving out of free food packages, bags for school children, free basic medical checkups – to mention a few. As part of expanding the scope of our outreach programs, the church has successfully established a student fellowship group on University of Pittsburgh campus. By this campus fellowship group, we are now reaching and impacting lives with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ beyond the four corners of our church.

It is our noble aspiration that more lives get touched by God through our church, bringing them to conform to the image of Jesus Christ, His Son. This is the legacy our church seeks to leave to the glory of God.

Vision & Mission of RCCG Worldwide

3. To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.

To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.

To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within five minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries.

We will pursue these objectives until every Nation in the World is reached for Jesus Christ our Lord.
